Classification: Ascomycota, Pyrenomycetes, Phyllachorales,
Phyllachoraceae
Distributed widely in Japan. Causes anthracnose diseases in various
grasses. Phylogenic and pathogenic specialization was recently found among the
isolates on C3 and C4 grasses. Producing acervuli on the surface of leaves,
scattering conidia inside by wind and rain. Teleomorph rarely observed in
nature.

Morphology: Teleomorph: Anamorph: Acervulus with many setae, producing conidia of single cell, hyaline to pale yellow, falcate to fusiform, tapered toward both ends, 23.5-29 x 3.5-5 um in size. Apressorium brown, irregular-shaped in edge, 17.5-30 x 12.5-14 um in size. |
