Distributed mainly south from Kanto, the central Distr. Reported
as a pathogen causing leaf spot of rice in Japan, but frequently isolated mainly
from gramineous plants as a leaf inhabitant. Disperses by scattering conidia. Teleomorph,
Khuskia oryzae Hudson, not yet discovered in Japan.
Characteristics: Plant pathogen, leaf inhabitant
Morphology: Teleomorph: Anamorph: Conidiophores colorless to brown, branched, flexuous and producing a conidiogenous cell hyaline, sub-spherical, 6-9 um in diam. Conidia solitary, black, spherical to broadly ellipsoidal, single celled, surface smooth, 10-16 um in diam. |
