Distributed widely in Japan. Isolated mainly from soil and often from leaves of various plants such as grasses as an inhabitant Disperses by scattering conidia. Teleomorph of the fungus shown below should be Apiospora montagnei Sacc., but not yet identified.

 Anamorph: Conidiophores erect, thread-like, colorless, producing 1-several conidia apically. Conidia brown, lenticular to globose, with a hyaline rim, 5-8.8 um in diam. and 3.7-6.3 um thick.
