05. Pathological evaluation of field and experimental cases of swollen head syndrome in chickens

The pathological evaluation of field and experimental cases of swollen head suggests that this syndrome may be Escherichia coli infection in facial subcutaneous tissue in chickens. This study suggests that E. coli invades through upper respiratory tract such as nasal turbinate, and extend to facial subcutaneous tissue.
