A presentation was made on the Moonshot R&D Programme, at Geneva, Switzerland, where CBD meetings took place during 14-29 March. The event took place in the Asia Pacific Regional meeting with a particular focus on Goal 5 (sustainable food supply). Over 30 participants welcomingly commented on the importance of innovative approaches to address biodiversity challenges. They also expressed their specific interests for pest controls with laser beam, aiming at substantial reduction of chemical use as well as the enhanced use of insects and soil microorganisms, which will contribute to the long term biodiversity.
