Summary

Research Leader, Dr. Junichi Sugiyama of Food Engineering Division, National Institute of Food Research (NFRI) received the Best Paper Award presented at 3rd International Commission of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (CIGR) Conference. Dr. Sugiyama was granted the award by the Science Council of Japan (CIGR Japan Committee) for his achievements in quick and nondestructive detection of aflatoxins, from nutmeg extract including pigment at the ppm to ppb level, using fluorescence fingerprint technique.
