- "The urgency of circularity: reconnecting systems to overcome linear inefficiencies in an unstable world."
- Abstract
- The global energy crisis reinforces, more than ever, the need to reduce dependence on new nitrogen (N) inputs by lowering overall consumption, decreasing fertilizer dependency, relocalizing production, and maximizing the reuse of regional nitrogen sources. Different typologies of agri-food systems will be analyzed to understand the long-term transitions of regional systems toward openness and specialization, in contrast to relocalized and reconnected crop, livestock, and agri-food systems.
