The theme of NARO Summer Open Day is "Science of Food and Agriculture, Let's Feel the Beat!" There will be lots of tips and ideas that will help schoolchildren in preparing their homework during the summer vacation. Various activities and events are designed for both parents and children to enjoy.

  • ※ To those coming by car, please note that some roads are closed to the public on the open day, and please follow the directions of the parking staff.

Tsukuba Chibikko Hakase 2019

Tsukuba Agriculture Research Hall and NIAES Exhibit Hall are the designated facilities of the "Chibikko hakase 2019" event sponsored by Tsukuba City on the open day. You can stamp the Chibikko Hakase passport inside these venue( Please check the location of the stamp on the guide map), but we do not distribute the passport. Please check Chibikko hakase 2019 for further details.

Access

From Tsukuba Express, Tsukuba station

Take a TSUKU-bus "Nanbu Shuttle" from Tsukuba station
Take the bus for Kukizaki Madoguchi Center or "Kukizaki Rojin Fukushi Center" (the bus ride takes about 16 minutes).Then get off at "Norin Danchi chuo", which is a five-minute walk from the Hall.

From Tsukuba Express, Midorino station

Take a TSUKU-bus Jiyugoaka shuttle from Midorino station
Take the bus for Fujimidai (the bus ride takes about 20 minutes). Then get off at "Norin Danchi chuo", which is a five-minute walk from the Hall.

From JR Joban Line, Ushiku station

Take a Kanto Tetsudo bus from Ushiku station West Exit
Take the bus bound for "Tsukuba Daigaku Byoin", "Yatabe Shako" (the bus ride takes about 20 minutes). Get off at "Norin Danchi chuo", which is a 5 minute walk from the Hall.

Notice for Visitors

  • As it is the peak of summer, please bring drinks and make sure to take all measures to prevent suffering from heat stroke.
  • In case of emergency, please check the guide map you will receive at the reception.
  • Please be forewarned that there is a possibility that mass media people may be around to do interviews.
