Summary
In the VI International Postharvest Conference, "Managing Quality in Chains "(MQUIC 2013), Dr. Thammawong presented the work concerning the respiration-relating gene expression under nine different gas compositions with varying ratios of oxygen and carbon dioxide. The study revealed that, under all the experimental conditions, the influence of oxygen on gene expression was greater than that of carbon dioxide. Additionally, from gene expression results, this study provides information regarding the concentration of oxygen which possibly suppresses an aerobic respiratory metabolism and/or induces the onset of anaerobic respiration.
