On February 21, 2023, Dr. Engku Elini Engku Ariff from the Socio-Economy, Market Intelligence & Agribusiness Research Centre of the Malaysian Agricultural Research Development Institute (MARDI) and three others visited NARO.
Vice president Dr. Katsuta in charge of international cooperation gave an overview of NARO, and then the research promotion office of Central Region Agricultural Research Center introduced the research topics on "Reduction of chemical fertilizers through the use of green manure crops". As there is a strong interest in environmental conservation agricultural research at MARDI, lively discussions were held on the multifaceted effects of green manure crops and the possibility of introducing them to Malaysia.
