On June 27, 2024, a delegation led by Special Envoy H.E. Frederick Vossenaar and the Dutch Food Tech visited NARO.
The Executive Scientist gave a lecture on NARO Style lunch boxes, and the delegation tasted them. After that, Vice President Dr. NISHIDA welcomed them and provided an outline of NARO, followed by a greeting and introduction by H.E. Vossenaar. After the Tsukuba Agriculture Research Hall tour, the delegation visited the Institute of Food Research (NFRI). Director of NFRI welcomed the delegation and the Manager gave an outline of the NFRI. The delegation had a laboratory tour covering high-pressure food processing, alternative protein & fermentation technology, and nondestructive analysis. We held a seminar on alternative protein & fermentation technology by the Principal Scientist and on nondestructive analysis by the Group Leader. The delegation introduced their activities for the Osaka Expo and innovative food, and expressed their thoughts on this visit. After they moved to the Genebank, the Deputy Director from the Research Center of Genetic Resources gave a seminar on genetic resources. They showed great interest in NARO's work.
