On March 13, 2025, Deputy Minister Michał KOŁODZIEJCZAK of Agriculture and Rural Development of the Republic of Poland, accompanied by a delegation of nine members, graciously visited NARO.
Vice President Dr. NISHIDA, in charge of international cooperation, gave a welcome remark, followed by a presentation of NARO's overview. Also, Dr. KAWASHIMA, the Administrator of the Smart Sustainable Agri-food Systems explained smart agriculture in Japan.
After moving to NARO Tsukuba Plant Factory, Dr. HIGASHIDE, the Director of the Institute of Vegetable and Floriculture Science, gave an outline. Also, Dr. ISOZAKI, the Manager of the Division of Greenhouse Productivity Research, gave a tour of the Plant Factory. The delegation saw the cultivation of strawberries, tomatoes, and other vegetables in the plant factory. Deputy Minister KOŁODZIEJCZAK shared insights on tomato cultivation methods in Poland and expressed his views on preferences for strawberries. Throughout the visit, there was an active exchange of opinions and discussions.
