14. Pathogenetic worm stage in sudden cardiac death in strongyloidosis

Parasitic females of Strongyloides papillosus in the small intestine are responsible for sudden cardiac death type strongyloidosis (Pokkuri disease of calves). This disease is associated with functional disorders of the heart, which are curable following worm elimination.
