25. PigINFO: A benchmarking system targeted at swine farms

Japanese

We established the benchmarking system 'PigINFO' for swine farms. This system is useful for evaluating various productivity parameters in a farmed pig population. It also informs farmers when their herd is inferior to other farms with respect to targeted variables, identifying a need to improve. Estimated improvements of financial return by attaining targeted values are calculated through a simulation process. This system is useful in improving the management practices and, consequently, the financial returns of farmers.
