Livestock manure management is an essential process in the livestock industry, involving the production of organic fertilizers through composting and the purification and discharge of wastewater. However, since greenhouse gases and odorous substances are generated during this process, appropriate manure management plays a crucial role in conducting environmentally sound livestock production. The Livestock Environmental Sustainability Group is developing smart livestock manure management technologies utilizing ICT, as well as technologies to reduce environmental impacts such as greenhouse gases and odors. Our goal is to achieve both environmental conservation and reduced labor hours while maintaining treatment capacity. Furthermore, we conduct comprehensive assessments using methods such as life cycle assessment (LCA) to quantify the effects of reducing environmental impacts. Through these efforts, we aim to contribute to the development of a sustainable livestock industry.
