Field Robotics Group is developing an autonomous soil maintenance system aimed at achieving both higher productivity and reduced environmental impact. By targeting open-field farming sites, we combine integrated real-time sensing technologies for soil, crops, pests, and more with data-driven field management technologies that utilize big data, with the goal of realizing ultra-precision agriculture. Based on field-level integrated sensing technology that frequently acquires soil physical and chemical properties (NPK), crop growth, pest occurrence, and related information, we are developing a soil management AI that also incorporates external data such as WAGRI.
