I have been appointed as the director of Research Center for Agricultural Robotics (RCAR), NARO. I would like to take this opportunity to offer a few remarks.
Japanʼ s agricultural sector is currently facing many challenges, including the aging and population decline of farmers, and climate change countermeasures. There is a need to quickly achieve further productivity improvements, a stable supply of agricultural products, and sustainable development of agricultural production.
At RCAR, we aim for the realization of "Society 5.0" in the agriculture and food sector. We will actively discuss and advance basic & applied research that combines agriculture and food-related technologies with robotics, sensing, and AI technologies.
We would like to further deepen collaboration in various ways with people from various fields to quickly respond to the various challenges faced by the agricultural sector. We would like to sincerely ask for your continued support and encouragement.
