Establishing a culture system of mouse egg in a test tube - Expected to increase egg production of useful and rare animals

A joint research of the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Institute of Livestock and Grassland Science, NARO has successfully established a culture system to produce functional ovum from the undifferentiated germ cells in the mammalian fetal functional egg in a test tube. The research results will be published in the August 25 issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences (PNAS).
