The Crop Science Seminar in East Asia is held jointly by Japan, China and South Korea, and the three countries take turns as host. This year it was held at the National Institute of Crop Science, Rural Development Association, in Suwon, Korea.
The theme this year was "Breeding Technology in Cereal Crop", and there were 16 lively presentations and accompanying discussions regarding paddy rice, wheat, soybean, etc.
NICS shared information about cold-resistant paddy rice, wheat breeding using spouting-related DNA markers, wheat cultivars for bread making, and breeding of beans.
