The NARO-FFTC-MARCO Symposium 2018: Climate Smart Agriculture for the Small Scale Farmers in the Asian and Pacific Region was organized by National Agriculture and Food Research Organization (NARO), cosponsored by the Food and Fertilizer Technology Center for the Asian and Pacific Region (FFTC) and Monsoon Asia Agro-Environmental Research Consortium (MARCO) at the International Congress Center (Epochal), Tsukuba on September 27-28, 2018. Four sessions with topics Mitigation options for greenhouse gas emissions from agricultural lands, Mechanisms and impacts of global environmental change on crop production, Adaptation options to reduce vulnerability of agricultural systems to the risks related to climate change and Decision support systems for improving the livelihood of farmers in the Asian and Pacific region have held and speakers from France, Indonesia, Philippines, China, Korea, Taiwan, Thailand etc., gave presentation. This symposium aims for the future research and ways to strengthen collaboration for agro-environmental challenges in monsoon Asia.
