On 5th August 2022, a delegation of nine executive officers from the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives (MOAC), the Kingdom of Thailand led by Permanent Secretary Dr. Thongplew Kongjun visited NARO with three officers from the Royal Thai Embassy, Tokyo. Mr. Ryosuke Ogawa, the Vice-Minister for International affairs, and five executives from the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF), Japan also accompanied the visit.
Following the welcome address by President Dr. Kyuma, Vice President Dr. Katsuta briefly introduced the research activity of NARO, and Dr. Kongjun expressed gratitude in return in the reception room. Then, the visitors moved to the Institute of Agricultural Machinery (IAM) to learn about 'Smart Agricultural Machinery' through the presentation using the slides and the video, the site tour, and the active Questions and Answers with the IAM experts on the subject.
