We are engaged in research focused on reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in the agricultural sector, developing technologies for carbon sequestration in soil, and conducting comprehensive evaluations and visualization of these technologies.
Reducing GHG emissions is a global challenge facing humanity. Under the Paris Agreement, countries have agreed to make reduction efforts, and Japan has set a goal of achieving net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050. The agricultural sector also emits GHGs, and it is necessary to reduce these emissions. To this end, we are engaged in research focused on: 1) technologies that reduce GHGs (CH4 and N2O) while maintaining and enhancing agricultural production; 2) technologies that absorb CO2 by sequestering carbon in soil; and 3) comprehensive evaluation and visualization of the effectiveness of these technologies to advance their practical application.
