Department of Soil Environment Management

Soil is a key environmental component that supports food production as well as biodiversity and nutrient cycles. Sustainable management of soil is essential to maintaining its functions for the future. The Department of Soil Environment Management aims to establish soil management methods that balance agricultural productivity with environmental sustainability. Our research focuses on the analysis, accumulation, and dissemination of soil and environmental data; the advancement and refinement of soil information infrastructure; and the assessment of soil biological properties. In addition, we promote research to digitize and evaluate the interactions between agriculture and the environment across multiple spatial scales relevant to agricultural production. The integration of these technologies will enable the development of sustainable soil management techniques.
