Organic Chemicals Group

More than 10 million kinds of organic chemical substances that exist around us are said to be used for various purposes. In agriculture, various organic chemicals such as agricultural chemicals are used as agricultural materials. Some of these substances remain in agricultural crops and soil. There is concern that they may be released into the atmosphere or into rivers and other water systems, thereby adversely affecting ecosystems. In order to solve these problems, the Organic Chemicals Group is developing detection methods, impact assessment methods, and risk reduction technologies. Our main research themes are as follows.

  • To develop a rapid detection method of organic chemical substances such as agricultural chemicals remaining in compost.
  • Development of river monitoring method for organic chemical substances such as agricultural chemicals.
  • Development of impact assessment method method for effects of organic chemical substances such as agricultural chemicals on crops and aquatic organisms.
  • Development of technology to control the release of agricultural chemicals and other organic chemicals into the atmosphere.
  • To develop a decomposition method of organic chemical substances such as agricultural chemicals remaining in soil.

The aim is not only to disseminate these research results to production sites, but also to reflect them in new systems related to organic chemicals such as agricultural chemicals.
