Division of Advanced Field Crops Breeding Research

We carry out the breeding of soybean, wheat, and barley and also conducting the research for the development of new useful breeding lines. Soybean is main ingredient of tofu and natto. Barley is processed and used as a raw material for pearled barley and barley tea. Bread and noodles are made from wheat flour. We aim to breed cultivars with improved agronomic traits and food quality.
