Feed Production and Application Group

We develop new technologies for producing and preserving the high moisture shelled corn (HMSC) with the aim to enhance domestic feed production in upland fields converted from paddy fields.
Our main research topics are as follows:
- Selection of high yielding corn hybrids for grain production suitable for upland fields converted from paddy fields.
- Development of a plant growth monitoring method and a yield prediction method with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and ICT/AI technologies, and their utilization for data-driven farming in corn grain production.
- Development of HMSC harvesting system with Japanese general-purpose combine harvester.
- Development of simple and low-cost method for preserving HMSC.
