ICT Utilization Group

To establish a highly profitable paddy crop rotation system in the Tohoku region, the ICT Utilization Group is developing basic technologies for paddy crop rotation systems, such as precision fertilization management technology using ICT, drainage improvement technology, and labor-saving field leveling technology. Furthermore, based on these technologies, we are developing cultivation technologies such as high-efficiency production technology for corn, which is expected to be a new type of land-use crop. Also we are engaged in the development of a system to support the formulation of a working calendar that supports cultivation management based on information on meteorological damage, pest damage, and weed damage. We are also building a high-profit crop rotation system for paddy rice that can respond to various regional conditions in the Tohoku region.
The tasks for implementation include、

Labor-saving field leveling technology
  • Development of labor-saving field leveling technology that enables high-speed and high-precision leveling work by means of GNSS data and UAV acquisition images
  • Development of high-efficiency production technology by means of robot sowing and high-temperature high-speed dryers for practical corn cultivation
  • Development of a system of warning information for disseminating pest generation in consideration of surrounding land use and crop phenology
  • Development of a support system for establishing a working calendar for direct sowing of dry-paddy fields in consideration of climate change.
