In our group, we aim to improve the value of agricultural products in hilly and mountainous areas. To achieve this, we are engaged in the development of production environment management technology utilizing local biological resources, development of biodiversity evaluation technology. We also work towards the formulation of sales promotion measures for environmentally friendly agricultural products, development of small management machines and agricultural work support systems for labor saving in mountainous areas. In addition to high-quality wheat varieties for bread and noodles, which are suitable for the temperate climate of western Japan, we are also working to develop durum wheat varieties for pasta.
