The Technology Application Research Team aims to refine smart grazing technologies developed at the Western Region Agricultural Research Center (WARC) into forms that are readily applicable in practice, while building practical knowledge for their implementation.
Abandoned farmland is converted into pastures suitable for grazing and domestic forage production using labor-saving technologies such as the flail mower. Further refinement of these technologies is underway to support wider adoption under regional conditions. In addition, for the introduction and use of smart devices such as GPS collars for remote tracking and on-site locating of grazing cattle, the team refines region-specific approaches and organizes procedures for cattle monitoring and pasture management.
Through these efforts, the team seeks to establish low-cost and sustainable grazing systems in hilly and mountainous regions, while developing a technical framework that contributes to agricultural land conservation and effective land use.
