We have analyzed the scent components emitted from lisianthus flowers and identified the various kind of components which is responsible for herbal and sweet scent etc. This research result is the world's first report on the scent components of lisianthus flowers, which are said to be scentless. This provides basic knowledge for breeding of fragrant lisianthus as a cut flower with new appeal.
