Stabilizing black soybean yields using long-term data and machine learning

Date of Publication:

To support stable production of Tamba black soybeans, NARO analyzed cultivation data accumulated over 16 years from farmers' fields and identified meteorological and soil moisture factors influencing yield. By combining the Soybean Irrigation Support System with a machine-learning-based yield prediction model, the study revealed that water management in early October plays an important role in stabilizing yields. This achievement represents a step toward sustainable black soybean cultivation under climate change.
