Hello, everyone! This is Narorin♪
In this Narorin Report or Naroripo, I will tell you about my visit to the 2017 Summer Open Day of NARO.
This year, the Summer Open Day was held in two venues, namely, "Tsukuba Agriculture Research Hall" and the "NIAES Exhibit Hall".
In this report, I will tell you about the Open Day at the Tsukuba Agriculture Research Hall.
First, I visited the "Play with Nororin" corner. In the "Fishing Game of Research Results", many kids were catching fish with pictures of cultivars and technologies developed by NARO!
I wonder what is going on at the other corners??
Let's go and play soon! First, let me go to the very popular corner "Easy! Beautiful! Flower Arrangement" where ticket distribution was finished in the blink of an eye.
The researcher who developed the water-absorbing sponge talked about simple and beautiful flower arrangement. When you pierce the flowers and leaves into the sponge in order ...you get a beautiful arrangement♪
Next corner is the "Food Quiz"
The person in charge of this corner told me "Narorin, try this Quiz!". Then a super challenging Quiz version was given to me! Well ~ I wonder if I can do it ~.
I finished answering the Quiz and she checked my answers.
The "Mystery of rural areas-Quiz corner" is also fully occupied!!
"Smell is amazing!" corner is for comparing the taste of soups.
At the corner "Let's think about the movements of stomach during food digestion!". Wow, what a stomach digestion simulator! Let's imagine the movement of the stomach!
Then at the "Let's take a look at the plant diseases!" corner, a huge mite (Shevtchenkella sp.) made with a 3D printer was placed in my head.
At the "Big wonder of small insects" corner, a Longhorn bettle was placed in my head.
At the "Let's know various species! Let's compare the variety! " corner, a baby narorin was placed on top of my head !
After playing with energetic 'baby narorin', it's time to go out.
How far will rice inflate? "Puffed rice" is popular this year too!
I'm going to punch now ~ It is very exciting and was so loud. With this loud puffing sound, puffed rice is ready to eat♪
The burning smell of fluffy rice could be felt.
In "Wonder of Water" corner you can do fun experiments using your own equipment. Using a siphon cup, we can experiment the mechanism of water flow.
At the "Let's measure the color of the leaves" corner, we can measure the color of the leaves of our own choice! I will stick the seal on the graph board.
There was some exciting corner placed far away namely "Become a weeds doctor". I am looking for the same weed as in the photo.
"Let's grow flowers! Let's experience potting". We can make potted plants by ourselves. What kind of flowers are blooming? Try growing up at home♪
By the way I felt hungry, I went to the corner "Let's eat products from research". The venue is full of excitement! I want to eat something nice quickly♪ Rice steamed with black soybean "Kurokojirou" and sweet made from barley. Both seems to be tasty ~.
When I came out from the tasting venue, I heard some fun music from somewhere. It should be from the "NARO Stage"! Let's go. Just as I arrived, the band consisting of researchers was playing some good music. It feels good to listen to music outside ~ ~
I enjoyed the "Summer Open day" this year too! After visiting various corners, I thought that the NARO is doing research in various fields!
