Fukushima City is located in the northeast of Fukushima Prefecture, about 260 kilometers from north of Tokyo. This city is surrounded by mountains on all sides and has a unique inland climate, with a drastic temperature difference between summer and winter season. Agricultural production of the city is the largest in Fukushima prefecture and the prefecture is called "Fruit Kingdom" because of big production of fruits, especially the nation's largest harvest of pears and some other fruit trees such as peaches with the large production quantity in Japan.
