Crop Production System Group

In Crop Production System Group, we are developing highly efficient and highly profitable rice paddy crop rotation system technology suitable for wet and heavy clay soil conditions in snowy areas on the Sea of Japan side. For paddy rice, we will elucidate the yield potential of high-temperature resistant, good-tasting, high-yielding varieties, and establish a stable high-yielding cultivation technique by expanding the cropping period through an early sowing system. For field crops, we will promote the development of high-yield cultivation technology using remote sensing. In farm work, we will develop labor-saving, high-speed work, and automation technologies using smart agricultural machinery. We will also develop data-driven smart fertilization and pest control technology that uses harvest and distribution information. We aim to establish a highly profitable crop rotation system that meets these diverse market needs.
