Acute phase proteins in serum are altered in response to acute infection and inflammation in cattle. Specifically, haptoglobin concentrations can increase in the early stages of diseases. We have established a Latex particle agglutination test to measure haptoglobin concentrations quickly and more conveniently than the single radial immunodiffusion method.
