06. Isolation of Parapoxvirus from a Cow with Mammilitis and its Antibody Survey in the Field

Japanese

A disease characterized by papules, nodes and vesicles on the teats was seen among cattle. A Parapoxvirus was isolated from a vesicle or a teat of an affected cow. A seroepidemiological survey was performed on antibodies against the isolated virus by an agar gel immunodiffusion test. The positive rate was more than 50% among cattle in the Kanto region, and showed an increased with age.
