The WAGRI Promotion Office is responsible for the operation and system/user support of WAGRI, the agricultural data distribution platform for private companies, and the formulation of terms of use. In addition, the office operates an advisory board consisting of representatives from the WAGRI Council and experts, collaborates with relevant ministries and agencies, and holds exhibitions and symposiums. WAGRI was developed as a platform for providing agriculture-related data and services to private companies, such as agricultural ICT vendors, under the Cabinet Office's Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP), "Next-Generation Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Creation Technology." By providing data and services from weather and farmland information to growth and yield prediction services through APIs, we aim to encourage private companies to create useful and easy-to-use services for farmers. WAGRI stands for WA ("harmony" in Japanese) - AGRIculture. In the future, we will aim to improve the stable production and management of high-quality agricultural products by increasing productivity through the promotion of data utilization by farmers.
