The CaPPA process, which compresses rice straw after lime treatment, not only improves transportability and storability, but also shows better sugar-release performance, making it easier to supply, store, and utilize as a regional bioethanol feedstock.

After lime treatment, the compressed rice straw can be shaped into bars, pellets, or boards and stockpiled as material for sugar production.
