To promote the government's goal of expanding agricultural exports, it is essential to ensure and maintain product quality while accounting for international conditions and rising energy costs. However, scientifically grounded guidelines that reflect real-world distribution are not yet systematically established. In addition, there is a lack of objective indicators to evaluate and predict quality changes during distribution and transportation.
In response to these challenges, our department focuses on developing reliable, reproducible, and user-friendly quality indicators that can be applied throughout the food value chain, as well as technologies and methodologies for maintaining product quality.
Our key research activities include:
•Development of non-destructive sensing technologies for agricultural products and foods using AI and data-driven approaches
•Establishment of both cross-commodity and commodity-specific evaluation platforms enabling high-precision sensory assessment
•Development of distribution condition recommendation methods based on dynamic cold chain design
•Creation of quality indicators to improve food quality and processing suitability
In addition, we strive to ensure analytical reliability through radiation analysis, GMO testing compliant with international standards, and a wide range of instrumental analytical techniques.
