08. Complement fixation test for antibody to malignant catarrhal fever virus

Japanese

Antibody cross reacting to bovine herpesvirus 3 were detected by complement fixation tests in cattle pathologically diagnosed as having sheep-associated malignant catarrhal fever. The results of serological investigation by the tests indicated that 60% of sheep possessed the virus antibody titers of 1:4 or higher, and a rise in antibody titers was observed frequently in sheep after lambing.
