Stem cell factor (SCF) is a cytokine that plays an essential role in the growth of hematopoietic cells. The cDNA clones encoding two isoforms of bovine SCF were obtained and their sequences were determined. These data would help us develop immunological methods to prevent various diseases of cattle.
