Based on morphological and immunological findings, a cell line derived from a fetal bovine thymus was concluded to be macrophage. MHC antigen expression was markedly increased by treatment with recombinant bovine gamma-interferon. IL-1 alpha and IL-1 beta mRNA were detected in LPS stimulated cells.
