The FS-L3 cell line, useful for the propagation and assay of classical swine fever virus, was established. It was found possible to grow this cell line in a serum free medium. And FS-L3 cells produced fluid-filled, multi-cellular domes. With the disappearance of the domes as infectious markers, the virus and its neutralizing antibody could be easily and safety titrated.
