08. Detection of African Swine Fever Virus by PCR in infected pigs

Japanese

African swine fever virus (ASFV) was detected by PCR in blood and swab samples of infected pigs. Primers were selected from the ASFV specific thymidine kinase (TK) gene. PCR products were found in the samples and the present PCR method was found to be a rapid, specific and sensitive means for diagnosing the disease.
