PED virus was successfully propagated in Vero cell culture from the homogenate of the small intestine of piglets which were experimentally infected with PED virus. The virus possessed the same morphological characteristic as other coronaviruses and identitiy antigenically with the standard strain CV777 of PED virus. The isolated strain named NK94P6 was supposed to be useful tool for the diagnosis of the disease.
