The rapid differential diagnosis of the Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) and the Transmissible gastroenteritis virus (TGEV) was achieved by RT-PCR from clinical specimens of pigs having diarrhea. The PEDV antigen was detected by IFA using a PEDV-specific monoclonal antibody on infected cells. These rapid and specific methods were available for diagnosis of pig diarrhea.
