07. Immunohistochemical Detection of the Hog Cholera Virus Antigen in Paraffin Wax-embedded Tissues

Japanese

The hog cholera virus antigen was identified in 13 experimentally and 17 naturally infected pigs by immunohistochemical examination of formalin-fixed paraffin wax-embedded tissues. The viral antigen was detected in crypt epithelial cells of the tonsil, reticular epithelial cells of the lymphoid tissues, collecting tubular epithelial cells of the kidney, bronchial and bronchiolar mucosa and gland cells of the lung, and pancreatic epithelial cells. Thus, the hog cholera virus antigen could be readily identified by immunohistochemical method. (Associate Director for Research, Department of Pathology and Physiology TEL +81-298-38-7776)
