02. Rapid Diagnosis of Parapoxvirus Infection

Japanese

A PCR method was developed for the detection and diagnosis of parapoxvirus.
The method was able to detect all four parapoxvirus members. It was also applicable for the diagnosis of parapoxvirus infection in clinically affected animals, such as cattle, sheep, goats and Japanese serows.
PCR-RFLP using four restriction endonucleases were also developed for simple classification of the parapoxvirus members. (Viral Disease Section, Department of Infectious Diseases, TEL +81-298-38-7841)
