Field Production Management System Group

In the domestic production of field vegetables and flowers, contracts between producers & shipping organizations and buyers are increasing in line with growing demand for processing. To help stabilize such contract transactions, precise shipping at known times, quantities, quality and prices is essential. However, with open field cultivation the time and quantity of shipping cannot be accurately estimated because the growing period and yield vary with the weather. For field vegetables such as cabbage, lettuce, broccoli, and onion, we are developing a system to predict the shipping time and quantity more precisely and share the information. This system combines high-precision growth simulation based on weather forecast data and field management data with remote sensing using observation data from UAVs and artificial satellites by utilizing the Agricultural Data Collaboration Platform (WAGRI).
For open-field chrysanthemums, we aim to establish a year-round on-demand supply system by linkage among production areas. We are developing efficient planned production technology suitable for the climates of high, middle and low latitude regions while focusing on flowering control and post-harvest storage technology. We are also using ICT tools to clarify cultivation conditions within the cooperative shipping group.
