Field Production Technology Group

In the production of vegetables and flowers for processing use, farmers are required to ship their products at fixed times and amounts in accordance with the shipping contract. In the case of field production where the growth is easily influenced by the weather, it is necessary to adjust the shipment by constantly observing the crop growth conditions in the field. However, it is becoming increasingly difficult to forecast crop growth and harvest in recent years due to abnormal weather conditions, often causing inappropriate cultivation management and missing the optimum harvest time.
We are establishing a smart growth diagnosis technology for field horticultural crops such as cabbage, broccoli, and chrysanthemum. We are developing environmental sensing and meteorological data-driven growth models to accurately diagnose and optimize cultivation management. We also aim to develop a crop-based feedforward growth control system through data linkage with agricultural equipment and cultivation management software via the agricultural data collaboration platform, WAGRI.
